The team from the University of Lund monitors the health of more than 8,000 men with age from 45 to 73 lasting 15 years.

These people were in good health at the start of the study, and they were asked about food and drinking preferences.

At the end of the study, the experts have compared the eating habits of these people having prostate cancer with those who are still healthy; they found a clear link between soft drinks and this disease.

In the group with men who drank the most soft drinks, a prostate cancer up to 40% .

The researchers said that although genes play a major role in prostate cancer compared to many types of cancer, but diet also seems important.

However, some experts believe that more research is needed to confirm this association.
