Although some scientist claim that the global warming is just a hoax and what the humans have been done with the planet is not harmful, it is almost impossible deny that our actions toward the environment, especially after the industrial revolution, have been impacting the planet in harmful ways.

Many species were extinct due to deforesting; entire biomes were damaged by mine explorations; big cities have changed what we used to know as landscapes of the coast or mountains, and etc. The mankind is not above the nature; it is part of it.

Thus, what we do have an impact on the nature itself and, consequently, in our lives.

All we have done was done to develop the mankind.

To put us in a better situation that we were before.

It is a fair sought, the improvement of the human life.

However, what we have been witnessing is the collateral effects of that initiative.

We explore the planet to offer goodies and a better quality of life to every human being.

Of course, there are also economic reasons and the capital plays an important role as an environmental agent, but, the principle, improve the life of the human beings, still fair.

What it seems is that we are taking too much from nature, we are not using our most useful trait, which is reason, to deal with the nature.

We have been inconsequential, selfish and irrational and, in the end, this kind of behavior can lead us to our own extinction.

The scientific and economic development is important, but it cannot be more relevant the preserve our species, and this is what we are playing right now, our preservation as the lead species, the top of chain, on Earth.

We are rationals beings, and I am sure we can easily figure out a way to balance development and environmentalism.

We cannot risk our lives on the name of a few million dollars.
