I live in Foggia, a little city in the south of Italy.
It has a population of 150.000 people and it is the second biggest city in my region.
Since I left my native town to move to Milan, there have been happening many things.
In fact every time I come back to Foggia I find something new or something that there isn’ t any more.
In the last weeks are opening many new pubs and restaurants in the historic center of Foggia, most of them managed by people coming from the neighbors looking for new opportunities.
Expecially in this summer, they are organizing many events.
Every Wednesday evening there is the outdoor cinema for a reasonable price.
I often go there to see those films I missed at the cinema.
There are many live concerts.
I really like them as I am musician and I’ m happy to see that there are still people interested in live music.
Just a week ago there were “The museum night”: all the museum were opened during the night for free with special exhibitions.
Despite all these good news, there are still bad things happening in my city.
I am sorry to hear about many arsons in these weeks and many people killed.
There are also other issues.
The theater “Umberto Giordano” has been restoring since 5 years ago and now all works are stopped.
Another theater has been closed.
It’ s a shame because they used to set up many live concerts.
Once Bob Dylan played in that theater and that was fantastic.
I could definitely say that I’ m proud of my city and I’ m really enjoying my summer here.
I would really recommend to anyone who likes culture and food to visit Foggia, it’ s a very good place.
