The first document is a photography representing a figurative carving of Henry Moore.
There are two characters : Madonna and Child.
The Madonna sits on a bench.
The child sits on his mother’s knee, and he puts his hand on his mother’s left one.
Madonna touches the right shoulder of Jesus.
Both of them wear tunic.
The sculpture of the second photography is also a Madonna and Child but contrary to the precedent one, they are reclining figures.
An other difference is that their bodies are curving shapes, which give an abstract aspect to this sculpture.
Moore decided to simplify their limbs so much so that they seem ligns.
