Pilgrim – Unforgettable time!
The second run.
From 22 to 30 July, there was the second run of youth to our lovely island in Tatarstan.
Boys and girls once again gathered together within the framework of the “Pilgrim’s journey” recreation which organizer is the Union of Evangelical Christian Churches of Tatarstan.
The quantity of youth exceeded 60 people this time.
There were people from different cities.
The main aim was recreation, communication and renewal of relationships with God.
This time the weather was not so good, it was often raining, the sun was not strong and hot and we had to delay all “bathing procedures” many times.
Nevertheless, we did not feel upset over it and every time found interesting things to be keen on.
Not rarely some guests and church ministers visited us.
Morning and evening services were full of testimonies and sermons that made one think over very deeply.
Everyone could express his or her thoughts and opinion and tell a testimony.
Every service discovered a new theme for reflection.
Every day was special in its own aspects: sport competitions which implicated a clear direction to some Biblical truths, quizzes in biblical stories for quickness.
They chose 4 captains and divided themselves into 4 teams to participate in the games.
Different tasks helped the teams to unify, get along with each other, and look into the inner world of another person.
And so imagine an ordinary day in “Pilgrim”.
At 7 o’clock in the morning (almost earlier than the other), persons on duty got up (each day had its own on-duty persons that everyone might take part in cooking).
Girls were cooking breakfast and boys were washing crockery and cleaning caldrons, then the rest of people got up and had breakfast.
Morning services were always full of worships, they also included some sermons and discussions on actual themes.
After the morning service all had a free time to play football or volleyball, help persons on duty or just have a talk to friends.
If some team games were planned, then all the youth participated in, but the free time was spent as one wanted.
Mostly nobody was bored, everyone could find something to be occupied with.
I do not feel like going into details but telling the essentials therefore I suggest our transferring right at the evening service of “Pilgrim”.
Evening service is one of the most unforgettable events.
A day loses, let’s say, a significant part without an evening service.
Just imagine: evening, cool, moon-light, all boys and girls are gathering around a campfire to worship God with guitar.
All are singing hand in hand getting to you dearer and beloved!
Evening services were always full of fellowship and worship.
Indeed, it is unforgettable time!
After an evening service there was a hot tea with cookies.
Then the Pilgrim’s day went to its end.
Thank God that this “Pilgrim” was without any serious injuries except little hurts and cuts.
The time has passed quickly, very quickly… then the date of leaving from the island and friends got approaching.
The last night we had very tasty kebab, amazing salute and songs at the campfire until 3 a.m.
July 30, the return from the island took place.
The weather again showed its changeable character.
The rain started almost in the morning but in spite of it all boys and girls were transported to the land.
And we were passing over limp, wet from the rain ground for about an hour.
It was damp, dirty, slippery, but merrily.
We were a little bit sad that it might have been the last time we gathered together this summer.
Nevertheless, all impressions we got there will follow us the whole year.
