Meriem Chadid was born on October 11th, 1969, in Casablanca Morocco.
She is an explorer, professor in the University of Nice, and an astronomer for the «Centre National des Astronomes» in France.
Chadid is the first female astronomer to have led an expedition in the heart of Antarctica as a member of a scientific program composed of twenty male scientists.
In doing so, she became the first woman to set foot in Antarctica.
