The Lunar New year is the longest and the most important holiday in VietNam.
It was derived from China.
Gradually, it has become our own country's cultural feature. Well!
Preparation is an important part worth being noticed well.
Before TET about one month, I can feel cheerful atmosphere everywhere.
The streets are full of ornaments, colorful lights or spring trees.
Because everyone needs to shop everything necessary for this important holiday.
And so does my family.
I like going to the flower market with my parents to buy some spring trees or fresh flowers to decorate our house in these days.
Some people, instead of shopping in the market, enter flower gardens directly to choose beautiful and suitable flowers with a reasonable price.
Moreover, in VietNam, worshiping ancestors becomes one of the most typical cultural features.
After preparing all things necessary, most families go to the cemetary nearby to visit their ancestors' graves.
In front of graves, they pray nice things: luck, happiness, prosperity,... for the coming year then add fresh flowers to those graves.
After that, they clean the space surrounding graves then go back home.
Then all family members'll join hands together to make some traditional food, particularly: Sticky Rice Cake.
To make Sticky rice cakes successfully, we need some necessary ingredients: Banana leaves, crushed green bean, pork mixed with pepper and salt, sticky rice,........i use 3 bricks to make a perfect cooking place.
Straw or wood may need using to keep fire burning during overnight cooking process.
We also have to be sleepless all night to make sure that fire still keeps burning and the cooker is full of water.
On 3 days of Tet Holiday, we visit our relatives, friends and neighbors to give them the best regards.
One thing couldn't be missed: giving the lucky money to the elderly with the wish of a good health and happiness, to the kids with the wish of their being dutiful and hard-studying ^_^
