  • As we can see from the first chart, the expenses on the books bought on the Internet have been increasing consistently between 1997 and 2002 year.
  • In 1997 British spent over 10 million dollars buying books on the Internet and these expenses rose twice by the year 2002.
  • The second chart compares the expenditures on books by UK countries.
  • The highest percentage of books was sold in England where books sales on the Internet reached 81 %.
  • The citizens of Wales and Scotland bought a much less books on the Internet than British with 10 % and 8 % respectively.
  • The lowest percentage of books sales was in the Northern Ireland and it only reached 1 %.
  • Overall, the Internet books sales in the UK rose significantly (doubled) during this period; and reached 24 millions by the year 2002.
  • The greatest amount of books was sold in England and it exceeded over 10 times the Internet book sales in other parts of the UK.
