Mood: Autumn spreads its fire on the city, winter is coming and I love this time of the year.

The colour of the trees cheers me up, the weather here is bright and sunny, but despite this I’m feeling all Christmassy, buying presents, eating Christmas sweets, wearing new winter clothes and looking forward to going back to Switzerland, in the snow, for the holidays!

December is a wonderful time for dreaming, smiling and giving!

Good news: - An anonymous group of people is giving extremely generous tips in restaurants all around the US under the nickname @tipsforjesus (photos of the bills on Instagram).

They say they are doing the Lord’s work “one tip at the time”.

A good example of charity and generosity.

- You may have heard about this story that happened last year: a New York City police officer became famous for helping a barefoot homeless man by giving him a pair of shoes.

His kindness has been paid off and he had recently been promoted to detective.

It was for totally other reasons, but this is an actual proof that all what you give comes back to you sooner or later, so go on giving love and joy!

- Coca Cola recently announced that they will stop for a moment spending money on advertising (from November 18) and be spending it on relief efforts in the Philippines after typhoon Haivan instead.

The company already donated $2,5 million in cash, nearly $600.000 in bottled water and $1 million through the Red Cross.

- Europe is finally caring about the bees, whose extinction would have really devastating effects on the planet’s well-being.

From December 31 a harmful insecticide used in the culture of sweet corn will be forbidden for at least two years.

People are beginning to realize that we seriously need to take care of our world… - Through the traditional Spanish Christmas food collect called Operación Kilo, the organisation Banco de Alimentos received a total of 14 million kilos of food (40% more than expected) that will be distributed to families in situation of poverty all around the country.

- The young british Olympic diver Tom Daley has just posted on Youtube a coming out video where he reveals to the entire world that he’s currently dating a guy and has never been so happy.

Taking this big step requires a lot of bravery and we can only hope that such public coming out videos will contribute to the acceptance of the gay community all over the world.

(...) - In the spotlights this month: London During the last weeks I’ve been craving to go back to the UK, and more precisely to London, which is such a fabulous city.

I’m really longing to see it again, its hugeness, its typical architecture, its very English mood, its too famous monument, its British culture, its people and their delicious accent.

Besides, it seems to me that England has a stronger Christmas spirit than Spain (what seems quite logical since it’s still 15°C here today…).

I want to go there right now and see the Christmas lights in the tiny streets, the outside ice rings, buy Christmas jumpers and drink festive hot chocolate :D
