"Young people no longer believe in advertisements.
What influence your own buying decisions?" Brands are accused of being responsible for a wide range of evils.
Starting from threatening our health and endanger our environment through manipulate our kids.
So the question whether young people believe in ads or not is entitled.
On the one hand, we get bombarded with masses of information and ads day per day.
Nowadays it is said, that every young consumer is confronted with up to 1500 pitches a day.
Nearly a half of the college students in the US take marketing classes.
So they know the enemy which makes it hard to establish a brand or pricing strategy easily.
The younger demographic has also got a lot various media to choose information from, which makes it even harder for marketers finding the best way for their ads.
On the other hand, the focus concerning distribution and promoting products has changed in the last few years.
Where a product’s features like quality or taste was important 20 years ago, the center moved to a brand’s recognition or brand’s image.
Marketers sell rather emotions or illusions linked to a product than price, quality or durability of a product.
In summary, it is very important to me to see advantages or improvements by owning a product in the future when it gets to the point making a buying decision.
Ads are very useful as an input but not necessarily the ‘decision maker’.
At the end I always compare all facts of a product’s feature.
I do not like buying a product only because of good reputation or a cheap price.
