Why it is difficult to find somebody to coomunicate with?

Hello,

I have been trying for a few months finding a penpal to talk with, i thought it would be easy to meet somebody interesting by a correspondence with a French People.

I was mistaken, do you think that age is an important thing.

I'm 42 old and i would like to keep in touch with a New Yorker, why somebody from New York, It's just because i love this city an I would like some news about it.

I hope receive answer, boys and girls are welcome, age is not important or me.
