Hi,I recently came across a post where a lady said she has lived her entire life in Ukraine and doesn't know a word of Ukrainian(she's from Odessa, which I take is a very Russian city...ironic considering its not in E.Ukraine)anyway is there anyone with more knowledge on this.I would imagine it would be necessary for some things courts, business, getting around,tv/radio,politics,education,(most especially this, are there schools that teach solely in Russian.is this legal ?)etc.I also watched a video where people in Belarus where asked to speak in Belarussian and most couldn't think of a word let alone a phrase and another one where the president made news for speaking Belarussian for the first time in 20 years. Is this really possible that there are people who call themselves Belarussians live in Belarus but don't speak the language.if so how strong is the Russian invasion/influence and the general language situation in the above two countries.thanks in advance!
