Hello, everybody

Let me join this discussion. =)

Nice to see you here again, Takec. :) You are always giving a hand for everyone who want to learn japanese. Just great!

And Brati. That's a very very nice website. Thank you for that tip. I was looking for those stories for better comprehension of Japanese. You just gave me a big favor.

I've been studying Japanese for 6 years and... oh boy! That's hard! I'm trying to master the language but I have so many difficulties. Since I'm not living in Japan it's a hard job to "reproduce" the original way of living in Japan. What I am trying to say, is that I have to watch movies, dramas and news over the internet, read texts, stories, and as much as I can talk in Japanese with my friends to get habituate with the language. Make a tiny "image" of Japan here where I live. That's a hard work because I don't know so many friends who can deal with the language.

Because of it I have to come here to the internet to get more material

Thanks a lot for all. =)

Studying by yourself (with help of people on the internet) isn't that bad. As the author of Remembering the Kanji (a great book) says, you can regulate the speed as you want. If you learn very fast, you can go very fast, if not so slow down.

Some advice of me in case that you just started learning:

- learn the hiragana very early and try to only work with them and not with romaji

=> in short time you will think that romaji is just stupid and hiragana is normal

- try the sample pdf of 'Remembering the kanji part 1' it's a really good book to learn the kanji

=> it will be much easier to learn new vocabulary since you can remember the strike order and position and everything very easily by the stories of the book and therefore you have only to remember 'word x consists of kanji y and kanji z'

- if you don't start to learn the kanji that early (but also otherwise ^^) it will maybe nice to read original texts. I found nice japanese child stories on the internet: http://life.ou.edu/stories/

Even the author of Remembering the Kanji refers to も も た ろ う when introducing the kanji 桃 .

I hope that I could give you some advice based on my personal experience.
