Trip to Tokyo and Kyoto!

I'm visiting Tokyo and Kyoto in May with my Fiance.  I'd like to meet some friends on this website that I can learn a little more about Japan.  Even though I live in New York, and there are plenty of Japanese resteaurants, I  dont know a single Japanese person.  If somebody out there in Japan would like to know a little more about the US or NY in particular, please feel free to respond.  Thinking ahead to my trip, I'm feeling a little nervous since I think we will get so lost!  We are going by ourselves and did not book any tour guides.  Wish us luck!

That is great! You are going to love Japan.  I  would recommend picking up the Lonely Planet guides for both Tokyo and Kyoto, as well as this e-book Japanese FAST

Hi,

Don't worry. People in Kyoto is nice.

Sometimes they may not understand your English but I'm sure that they try to help you when you are in trouble.

A  pen and a memopad may help you sometime.
