Is Arabic Difficult to learn?

I am trying to learn arabic for many years but I am no where nearer to it. I purchased several books, CDs and also fixed a satellite TV and watch Arabic Channels every day in New Zealand. But no luck. So I think either Arabic is difficult to learn or I am thick. Can somebody help this poor guy.

hello  i'm arabic and i can tell you that arabic is not so difficult, but for the people who are not arabs they find some troubles in prononciation of some words but if you want to improve it you should just speak with a native speaker if you want to i'll teach it to you with pleasure

  we do not use the classical arabic in everyday life so we just able to write ,read and understand ..

This does not apply to everybody . There are people who can speak it fluently ...

I hate arabic rules and grammar... I want to go back some day and learn them..

Hi,

Don't give up. Yes, Arabic is quite difficult, that is, it needs a lot of work. I think anyone can learn Arabic if they put in a lot of hard work and time. Arabic is also one of those languages where it's of great benefit to sign up for a class, and have a teacher explain the rules/the grammar to you. Also, I recommend you to memorise a lot and then try to apply the grammatical rules in practise. Don't have long periods where you stop studying the language, but rather, try to continuously work on the language.

Yes language is difficult, infact it's one of the most difficult languages in the world,  it has very complex grammar. the best way to learn it is to have daily contact with the native speakers.
