Where to start?

Hi.  I worked in Vietnam HCMC district 5 for 6 months as an English teacher.  Iloved the country, but hated the city.  I want to learn some vietnamese because i pla on touring the country from south to north on a motorcycle with my friend this summer.



Where should I look to learn basic vietnamese and also specific vietnamese concerning motorcycles and repair.
