Hello,
I am a Beginner when it comes to Welsh and was wondering if someone would be willing to teach me. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

THIS-IS-SILLYSeptember 2009 I WANT TO LEARN WELSH IN LIVERPOOL DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY EVENING CLASSES
EleriJuly 2009 Try reading some children's books if you can in welsh, no matter how silly you feel it'll help a lot- even if they are baby books! Once you get to a good standard try reading Harry Potter in Welsh or something similar, and don't worry if you need a dictionary for every other word, just note them down and try and learn it. There are also Welsh newspapers and magazines which I think you may be able to receive in the USA through subscription - Golwg is probably the best one to start with. Try and get S4C if you can (the welsh tv channel)- although I'm unsure if you can. OH and see if you can get some welsh grammar books.
CairbreFebruary 2009 try this http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/catchphrase/catchphrase1/lessons1.shtml It's a great course for beginners. Hwyl fawr !
CymroFebruary 2009 Best thing you can do is to see if there is a night class in your area. That's how I started. But to become fluent will require moving to a Welsh speaking area to use it every day (the only way to master any language!). It's a difficult language to master but not impossible. I am finding German with its cases a lot harder! Good luck anyway to both of you. If you have any specific queries please message me and I'll try to help.
MartyMFebruary 2009 I would appreciate the same :-D I have tried some course for kids at BBC but without success :-( Thanks for any help
