  • It must have been about two in the morning when my husband returned home.
  • At the time, I slept soundly when he tried to wake me up by ringing the doorbell.
  • Soon afterwards, I heard a noisy voice from outside windows.
  • It seemed a person was arguing.
  • I could not bear it and went to open the window.
  • A man soon climbed into my house.
  • I was scared though.
  • After I realized the man is my husband.
  • I was fast asleep again.
  • The next morning, he explained what had happened last night.
  • As usual, he got a ladder from the shed in the garden while he forgot his key.
  • I used to suggest this was danger of climbing to the window by the ladder.
  • Supposed that being found by a police, he must be asked to go to the station.
  • However, it came true last night.
  • A police asked him whether the windows needn’t being cleaned at the middle of night.
  • He nearly fell off the ladder when he saw a policeman.
  • The police did not believe him.
  • Even if my husband told him that he enjoyed cleaning the windows at night.
  • The police interrupted my husband’s explanation that he had forgotten his key, and started to climb towards him.
  • He was supposed to be staying in the station and being questioned unless I opened the window.
