According to the reading passage, we can explain two reasons for charitable giving: altruism and personal interest.

The first reason can be explained by the natural feeling that someone needs to help another, donating money, clothes, spreading love or anything else.

The second one shows that people can help each other just for their selves’ personal interest.

For example, wealthy people building public libraries or hospitals just for positive publicity in order to raise their selves public image.

Then we were impact by the listening passage, which tells about Gladys Holm’s charity history.

This woman is a great illustration for the altruist way of life, she has saved a lot of money during her entire life, and then when she died she left this amount for Children’s Memorial Hospital.

We can understand she has done that in order to send back entire good thing that Hospital has done for her friend’s daughter.

Therefore, we can realize she was matter about only in spread peace and love on human being history.

Summarizing, people who does not care about money and material stuff, as Gladys Home was, cannot see any problem in donating a great amount of money.

All of they do is help each other no matter what they have to do.
