In fact, the Erasmus program enables to European students to study in another European country for 3 years minimum or one year maximum.
This program had existed since 1987, 33 countries are members and more than 4000 Higher institutions are participating.
According to a study, in 2012-2013, 270 000 students used this program.
Spain was the country which sent the most students abroad, and also the most popular destination, followed by Germany and France.
The average duration of student exchanges was six months, and 40% of the students were studying social sciences, business and law.
Personally, I would be ready to go abroad for one year, I would love to go to Japan.
But Erasmus is an exchange program between European countries so if I should go to Japan, it would be through another association.
Lille 3 has several partner universities with Japan, and suggests going abroad for one year during the 3rd year of the degree or during the master, and I would like to take advantage of these exchanges to be able to go there.
I will do everything I can to do it because the places are limited.
Indeed, going abroad during the studies is a very enriching experience since it allows us to discover a new culture completely different from our culture.
This will also greatly increase our level of language because we have the opportunity to practice it everyday in real life situations.
Going to a foreign country is also an opportunity to make friends, to visit the country, and to have a new point of view about the outside world.
Secondly, I’m going to talk about the question 7 which is “Would you be prepared to emigrate and start a career in a different country?”.
Actually, I am already prepared to emigrate since I decided to live and make a career in Japan after my studies.
I’m studying Japanese with this aim in mind.
I’ve been passionate about this country for years, I love its culture and its lifestyle.
Moreover, living in another country has many advantages such as becoming more open minded.
According to a survey, about 16% of the world's adults would like to move to another country permanently if they had the chance.
It represents 700 millions of persons.
People who would like to live in another country the most are from sub-Saharan Africa, and people who would prefer to stay in their country the most are from Asia.
Moreover, the United States are the most desired destination country, followed by Canada and the United Kingdom.
However, living abroad has also drawbacks, especially the fact of living away from our family.
At first, it may be difficult because if we have a problem, our family can’t easily move to see us.
The language barrier can also be a problem.
Being understood and understanding the other persons is a challenge that we must overcome.
That's why I’m studying Japanese before going to Japan.
