- Built in 1873 by the French architect Albert Louvet, Le Petit Chichifu, became one of the most elitist theaters of Southern England; status that kept for 20 years until its prestige and popularity diminished and eventually it ended up being abandoned.
- In its golden years, Le Petit Chichifu was frequented by the highest social classes of the time (both French and British).
- Its remote location, made it the perfect rendezvous for those nobles who wanted to differ and be away from the common poor people of the suburbs.
- It is not truly acknowledged the reasons why it went bankrupt, although chronicles of the time, hint that the theatre went mainstream and thus, little attractive to wealthy egos.
- In 1979 Albert Louver’s nephew, Tiberius Louver, restores the theatre and makes a profitable business out of it.
