  • These two Imperial nations also had an important role in the European expansion throughout the world, leaving a cultural legacy in many modern nations, especially in America.
  • Both countries have produced two of the most well-known writers worldwide: Shakespeare and Cervantes.
  • It is a noteworthy coincidence that both authors died the same month of the same year, 1616.
  • Most importantly, Spain and the United Kingdom are both the place of birth, from the perspective of their international projection, of the most widely spread languages of our times: English and Spanish.
  • It is not a surprise that having so many aspects in common in their historical trajectory and national identity, the British and the Spaniards always shown interest in getting to know each other better.
