As a conclusion, behind the democratic framework that bears, Russia has a strong and powerful executive endorsed by the authoritarian president Putin.
But all the criticisms that come to our minds when we think about Russia's democracy are influenced by our occidental position.
We constantly hear that Putin is a dictator and so we barely understand how he can be so popular in his country.
The main explanation we usually find is that Putin's propaganda is working more than it should be.
But finally, the main question that we should be asking is : isn't more the russian population's desire and appeal for charismatic and authoritarian leaders who govern with an iron hand that make Putin so popular?
Moreover, Putin is essentially seen as the guy who got the chaotic Russia of the 90's back on its feet and the people are grateful to him.
Russian's worst nightmare is to be back to a complete loss of control and order such as was the case after the fall of the USSR.
