Should the elderly receive free bus rides?

Looking at the question you may be wondering why not, but is it actually a good idea?

In my opinion there are two main points of view concerned in this debate.

Economics on one hand and social well-being on the other hand.

From an economical point of view it is a disastrous proposal to provide the elderly with free bus rides.

Not only would busses become to full to sustainably transport the people, but also would transportation companies suffer severely from the fall in income.

Especially in this era in which senescence is an upcoming social issue.

From an social point of view it is a great idea to provide old people with free bus rides, because with that governments give the signal to be there for their inhabitants rather than ruling them.

Although it seems to be a good idea from this point of view, it must be mentioned that it may causes problems.

When older people get free bus rides and are a majority of the population, whereas younger people do not and are a minority of the population, there may arise feelings of social inequality.

In my opinion it is a bad idea to provide the elderly with free bus rides, because the senescence can't be ignored.

Since a social issue is more important to take into account than a 'normal' issue, I think people should support the economists.
