An elephant is killed every 15 minutes and butchered for its ivory tusks.
We can act before it is too late.
During the last ten years, the elephant’s population has decreased by more than 70%.
The elephant is now a species classified as “endangered” and if no action are taken soon the elephant might completely disappear over the next twenty years.
The number of elephant is rapidly declining because the ivory trade is growing considerably and is become today an international trade.
The value of raw ivory has tripled in the four last years, reaching an average of 2,100 $ per kilo.
A ton of ivory tusks means that ten elephants have been cowardly killed thus 10 tons mean that hundred have been killed.
This is a dirty business but this is very lucrative, this why certain poachers do not hesitate to commit such a massacre of innocents elephants.
Elephants are more important that you may think:
• They are among the most intelligent animals
• They have strong emotion
• They protect vegetation by helping plants growing
• They provide water for other animals by using their tusks to dig for water
Elephant are indeed among the most important creatures in the earth.
This is our duty to fight against the illegal and cruel elephants poaching.
There are many charity organization around the world which care about the elephant cause.
Thereby, in order to tackle this inhuman trade and protect the elephants, we should support those charity organizations.
There are plenty of organizations which carry out a great work however, the one I would recommend as I know them personally and I can ensure their serious about the elephants is “XXXXX” charity. (Thanks guys)
