  • Learning Language Through Reading

  • Of course study books are excellent when you're learning foreign language.
  • But sometimes it may be boaring and you might be frustrated about a huge amount of new information.
  • So that's why I'm convinced you should include reading books in your learning! Just try it!
  • I've chosen "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" because it is my favorite part of series. What do I do?
  • I read one page of English version and pay attention on everything that I'm interested to.
  • It is new vocabulary in the majority, but sometimes I write down interesting grammar cases or unfamiliar sentence structures.
  • Then I may look up into Russian edition and compare my own ideas about translation of words, phrases or sentences.
  • One page can spend half an hour but it's not just wasting of time - it's helpful!
  • And my next step - I try to use new words or structure in my speech or writing.
  • The famost Hungarian polyglot Kató Lomb says in her book that reading books is her favorite way of learning languages.
  • I completely agree with her.
  • It's very enjoyable and exciting since you realize you have deal with "live" language.
