Paris counts a lot of different monuments and buildings, which mark its history through various events (Notre-Dame, Haussmann…).
Some people want to modernize Paris even if it destroys old buildings.
Others prefer to conserve them, partly for keep the atmosphere of the “old Paris”.
I think that we should keep the historical monuments and don’t destroy them because they are a proof of our past.
If we shave iconic monuments such as Notre-Dame, the arenas of Lutecia and so on, our children and grandchildren will never see them.
They would only have pictures to imagine what and how our ancestors built.
On another side, it would not be a bad idea to change some buildings, mainly those which are not very esthetic (concrete blocks for instance…).
This would create buildings more focused on bioclimatism, ecology, which are nowadays very important topics.
That’s why I am not completely for or against this type of program.
