Today cities are getting bigger and bigger.

Some people think that it is not really good for the environment.

However,others believe that the devil is not as black as it is painted and growth of modern cities does not do a real harm to the environment.

From my personal point of view, growth of cities is a big problem we need to solve.

There are several reasons why it can be disastrous.

Firstly, when a city becomes huger, energy consumption increases and it makes us burn more coal and oil to cater for all our needs.As a result, carbon dioxide emission can destroy the Earth atmosphere.

Secondly, ecosystems and natural animal habitats begin to degrade in case of growth of cities because people need more space for building shopping malls,theatres,hospitals,school.

Nevertheless,there are people who suppose that growing cities are not a big deal.

They say that we have tecnologies which can save the environment and all humanity even if there are hundreds of megacites on our planet.

There is a lot of truth in what they say , but I believe that such tecnologies still need to be improved.

On the whole ,they are a matter of future.

In conclusion,I would like to say that I think people need to control birth rate and use the resources of our planet properly.

I am sure that this will lead to stopping growth of cities and will help us to live a better life.
