  • Showing Off In the Train

  • I was surprised to notice how annoyed I was by the group of young American women who were chatting loudly in the crowded train.
  • I looked at them and one of them looked back so I made it clear that their behavior was totally inappropriate.
  • I knew that they were talking loudly on purpose just to get attention from the rest.
  • Then one young foreign businessman entered the train and he was obviously embarrassed to see this group.
  • Before reaching one of the main train station, the girls started to talk and laugh louder that the boys hushed them feeling also embarrassed.
  • Not that Japanese people never have conversations in the train, but we do not talk like deaf or half deaf people.
  • It was a clear invasion of privacy in a public place (if you know what I mean) and foremost it was extremely embarrassing behavior.
  • I think that what annoyed me the most is that they had done it purposefully just to annoy the rest of the people in the train.
  • I wish these type of tourists never came to visit Japan or any other country.
  • However, speaking to a deaf person is meaningless which is the reason why nobody said a word but just endured their brutal behavior.
